Turan POYRAZ, after completing his pre-undergraduate education in Erzincan, started his undergraduate education at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his medical education in 2004 and received the title of MD. After working as a tourism physician for a short period, he received his specialist training at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology between 2005-2010 and became a Neurology Specialist. He worked as a specialist physician at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Neurology for a short period (approximately 4 months).
Turan POYRAZ, who completed his compulsory service as a specialist physician at Tatvan State Hospital, completed his compulsory service in 2012 and continued his work as a specialist physician first at Soma Private Vefa Hospital and then at Private Medifema Hospital between 2013 and 2020. Since December 2020, he has been continuing his professional work independently.
Turan POYRAZ, who has occupational medicine and botulinum toxin certificates, has many oral and written (poster, e-poster) presentations that have been deemed worthy of presentation in the field of Neurology at national and international congresses and symposiums, and one of his studies was honored with an award by the National Neurology Congress Evaluation Board. He also co-edited the book titled ‘Neurological Evaluation in Infants and Children’ prepared by the Child and Adolescent Neurology Working Group of the Turkish Neurology Association, and also served as a chapter writer. He has numerous articles published in national and international refereed journals, and most recently, he was a chapter writer in the book titled Dementia in Health Board published by Galenos Publishing House.
Turan POYRAZ, who continues his work as a freelance physician in his private clinic in Izmir, also serves as a consultant neurologist in the Private Başkanoğlu Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center and the Private Ata Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center.
His special areas of interest are headache diagnosis and treatment, multiple sclerosis diagnosis and treatment, advanced botulinum toxin applications (migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, sweating, spasticity, tremor, dystonia, etc.), neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia and Parkinson's disease, and he can continue to diagnose and treat all neurological diseases in the field of general neurology. EMG, EPs, EEG and Home Sleep test services are provided in his clinic.
He is a member of the Turkish Neurological Association Multiple Sclerosis Working Group, Child and Adolescent Neurology Working Group, Neuromodulation Working Group, Young Neurologists Working Group, Neurology Coordination Board, and continues to serve as a board member of the Izmir Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Association.
Dr. Turan Poyraz, who has been continuing his professional studies independently since December 2020, has also been continuing his education and academic studies as a part-time faculty member at Izmir University of Economics since 2022.
