Prophylactic Dose and Number of Sessions
– 4-6 sessions are recommended at 5-7 day intervals.
Common Indications
– It is used in the prevention of folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency, in the treatment of its complications, in the increase of levels and in prophylaxis.
– Folic acid improves the hematological symptoms of pernicious anemia due to B12 deficiency, while it can hide its neurological complications, therefore it was developed by combining it with high dose methylcobalamin.
– It has been discovered that adequate folic acid intake, if started before pregnancy and continued throughout pregnancy, can significantly reduce the risk of congenital neural tube defects. Folic acid supplementation has been shown to be associated with a lower risk of premature birth and low birth weight babies in women who started taking folic acid supplements before pregnancy.
– Maternal folic acid intake is important during breastfeeding and no problems have been identified with supplementation to achieve adequate intake targets during breastfeeding.
– An important role of folic acid is the formation of methionine from homocysteine using vitamin B12 as a cofactor.
– 5-methyltetrahydrofolate – can normalize high homocysteine levels via homocysteine methyltransferase.
– Decreased folic acid intake is associated with hyperhomocysteinemia. Folic acid and its congeners are extensively bound to plasma proteins and are distributed throughout the body, including CSF, and are also seen in breast milk. Following high doses, folic acid may appear unchanged in plasma. Methylcobalamin is the active form of vitamin B12 that can cross the blood-brain barrier without biotransformation.
– Vitamin B12 is necessary for hematopoiesis, neural metabolism, growth, cell proliferation, DNA and RNA production, nucleoprotein, myelin synthesis, carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. It improves iron functions in the metabolic cycle and helps the synthesis of folic acid in choline. Cells characterized by rapid division (epithelial cells, bone marrow, myeloid cells) have a great need for methylcoabalamine.
Application Recommendations
– Products containing caffeine should not be consumed before application. Water equal to the product volume should be consumed during application.
(For example, 0.25 liters of water should be consumed when applying Methyl Plus in 250 ml SF.)
– Flow/Application rate: It should be between 40-45 minutes. It is not recommended to mix with another product.
