Education
Turan POYRAZ completed his undergraduate education at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2004. After a brief period in tourism medicine, he completed his specialisation training at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, between 2005-2010, becoming a Neurology Specialist.
He briefly served as a specialist physician at Dokuz Eylül University Department of Neurology for approximately 4 months.
Career
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Turan POYRAZ completed his mandatory service at Tatvan State Hospital in 2012. He subsequently worked at Soma Private Vefa Hospital, then at Private Medifema Hospital from 2013-2020 as a specialist physician. Since December 2020, he has been continuing his professional practice independently.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poyraz holds certifications in Occupational Medicine and Botulinum Toxin applications. He has presented numerous oral and poster presentations at national and international congresses and symposiums in the field of Neurology. One of his studies was honoured with an award by the National Neurology Congress Evaluation Committee.
Working as a private practitioner in his clinic in İzmir, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Turan POYRAZ also serves as a consultant neurologist at Private Başkanoğlu Nursing Home and Private Ata Nursing Home.
Academic Contributions
He co-edited the book 'Neurological Assessment in Infants and Children' prepared by the Turkish Neurological Society Child and Adolescent Neurology Working Group, and also served as a chapter author.
He has numerous articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals and contributed a chapter to the book Dementia in Health Board published by Galenos Publishing House.
Special Interests
While his special interests include headache diagnosis and treatment, multiple sclerosis diagnosis and treatment, advanced botulinum toxin applications (migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, hyperhidrosis, spasticity, tremor, dystonia, etc.), and neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia and Parkinson's disease, he continues to diagnose and treat all neurological conditions in the field of general neurology.
His clinic offers EMG, Evoked Potentials (EPs), EEG, and Home Sleep Testing services.
